Please say prayers for sweet Rorie!!

This is so horrible. No child should have to endure this #CancerSUCKS!!!! #EndCancer #TeamRorie
Team Rorie – we need each and everyone of you more than ever.

As many of you knew from our previous post that Rorie’s lung functions had slowly started to make little improvements which had re-lit the fire in our hearts and gave us that boost of motivation to keep fighting.

As of the last few days Rorie hit a plateau with her breathing machine/ ventilator. She stayed stable for a few days making no improvement. Yesterday Rorie’s need for oxygen started to increase. The team of doctors is having to up the amount of oxygen she receives and also increase the amount of pressure she is receiving with every breathe while her blood/oxygen saturation are still dropping off.

This morning we noticed Rorie was starting to swell on her arms and in her face. The doctors initially thought it was possibly a clot in her pic line where she receives majority of her medications so they ordered an ultrasound. While the technicians were performing the ultrasound a
large bulge appeared on her stomach which really alarmed the doctors. After some discussion they decided to follow the ultrasound with an x-Ray. (Now this is where my emotions come into play and I knew it would be hard just typing this post) the x-Ray shows that with the significant amount of oxygen/pressure she is receiving, her lungs have stretched and oxygen is starting to seep into her body causing major discomfort. The only option the doctors have is to drop the amount of oxygen and pressure to see if we can stop the seepage into her body. At this point our only concern is to keep Rorie comfortable and we are doing everything we can to make that happen. The doctors are anticipating that her stats will slowly start to decrease and with the lack of oxygen her other major organs will start to suffer. We are praying for an absolute miracle in this horrific battle we are facing against cancer. Savannah has gotten the okay to sleep in bed with her for a bit and just love and hold her sweet little girl since tonight might be a pretty long night.

We are asking each and every one of you please take a minute and say a few kind words as tonight may be rough.
